Emilian Elefteratos Joins SCM Microsystems as Vice President Americas

Ismaning, Germany – November 5, 2007 – SCM Microsystems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SCMM, Prime Standard: SMY), a leading provider of solutions that open the Digital World, today announced that Emilian Elefteratos, an experienced executive in technology sales and management, has joined SCM Microsystems as new Vice President Americas. He will be based in SCM Microsystems US headquarters in Fremont, California.

Emilian Elefteratos has more than 25 years experience in the electronic transaction, networking and telecommunications industries in the U.S. and abroad. Most recently, he served as Vice President and General Manager, Vertical Markets Sales of VeriFone, Inc. (NYSE:PAY), a global leader in secure electronic payment solutions. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President, International Sales at Hypercom (NYSE:HYC), a global provider of electronic card payment terminals. Mr. Elefteratos previously held various senior management positions in Worldwide Sales Management, Sales Finance, Marketing, Business Development and Professional Services, including three years at SiVault Systems, six years at Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO) and fourteen years with British Telecom. He holds a master’s degree in cybernetics from the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest, Romania and has completed senior executive management programs at Wharton University, INSEAD and Haas Business School.
